Dr. Visit

We went and met the surgeon, Dr. Comair, yesterday. Jeromy and I both feel very comfortable with him. It is looking like we are going to do Lacey's surgery the first week of August. We do not have a exact date yet. Dr. Comair schedule is free but they have to check with Texas Children's to make sure a operating room is available. I am suppose to know a exact date this week. We do know that the surgery is going to last about 4 to 41/2 hours. They are going to make an incision like a question mark from her ear to the front of her scalp. Dr. Comair told us that Lacey should be acting back to normal the day after the surgery but that we will probably be in the hospital for 3-4 days. He is still not expecting any set back in her development but if there is any then it will only be short term. He said that there is about a 80% chance that the seizures will stop after the surgery. She will still be on medicine for a couple of months after the surgery just to make sure the seizures have stopped. That is about it for now. I will post once I know the exact date of the surgery.
