EEG

On Friday Lacey had a two hour EEG to try and get one of her seizures recorded. When we got there the technician hook up 25 electrodes to her head and then one on each ear and one on each cheek. Then she wrap her head up with tape to keep the electrodes in place. The technician let her sleep for 20 minutes then we got her up and let her play. After alittle over an hour she did have a seizure, which got recorded. After the EEG I went over to the clinic to try to talk to her neurologist to figure out what we needed to do about the amount of seizures that she has been having. When I got to the clinic her nurse told me that both doctors were gone for the day. The nurse then told me that she would take Lacey down to the ER because there is a neurologist on call down there. Thank goodness the ER was not busy so they got us in a room right away. As soon as they got us in a room my cell phone rang and it was Lacey's neurologist Dr. Lebron. It ended up being that she was not gone for the day. Dr. Lebron and Dr. Akman were going over Lacey's EEG so that was why they were not in the clinic. Dr. Lebron stop by the ER on her way out to talk to me. They have increased her medicine again to try and get the seizures under control. Even though she did have a seizures during the EEG they did not get as a in depth reading as they wanted. So we are going to schedule a 24 hour observation on Thursday. During this time it might be possible that Lacey will have another MRI to make sure the tumor is not growing. Lacey was doing good with the increase in medicine until today. Today she had four episodes. They have been shorter and she has been breathing during them. I also called and made an appt. with another neurosurgeon that was highly recommended to get a second option. That appt. is for July 28th. That is it for now. I will post again very soon.
