Hospital Stay
Lacey turned 6 months yesterday and got to spend it in the hospital. Her neurologist had us bring her into the ER yesterday afternoon so that they could omit her for a 24 hour EEG and another MRI. By 5:30pm last night they had her hooked up to 21 electrodes and were recording her by audio and video. We also took her off her medicine so that they could make sure they did get a seizure recorded. By 7:30pm Lacey had her first seizure. During the night Jeromy and I took turns holding her so that she would sleep. We had to make sure she was facing the camera just in case she had a seizure during the night. We did get reassured that she is probably not having the seizures in her sleep. I had to wake her up at 5:30am to feed her breakfast because she could not have anything to eat after 6:00am because of the MRI. By 6:00am she had another seizure. Then after that one she had pretty much one after another. By 8:00am they had enough readings to be able to take off the electrodes. The neurologist on the floor came in and told us that the seizures are definitely coming from the tumor. We then started her medicine back up with an increase. Even with the increase on Friday Lacey is on the low end of the medicine range for her weight. At 9:00am they started giving her another seizure medicine through her IV to help get her seizures under control. We are now waiting to take her to get her MRI at about 12:30pm. Unless something comes up different on her MRI we will be able to take her home today. I will post later with the results from the MRI.
