August 27th

We finally got into a private room yesterday. Lacey has still been in pain but her post surgery fever has started to go away. The MRI results came back and they removed all the tumor! There was a very little spot but they are expecting it to be a blood clot. We will know for sure in three months when she has her followup MRI. Lacey is now able to open her left eye. It is still a little swollen but not half as bad as it was yesterday. The swelling has started to move down into her neck which they say is normal. The bandages were taken off this morning. The incision is bigger then we were expecting. The neurosurgeons stitched her incision with dissoluble stitches and then there is little pieces of bandages all through out the incision. She has been doing a lot of sleeping which is the best thing for her. We are trying to start decreasing the morphine that she has been receiving for the pain. She has started to eat a little bit more. Last night she threw up the 2ozs of formula that she had eaten. She will not be able to go home until she is off the morphine and is keeping her food down. Dr. Curry came by today and said that she was looking good. We found out that the spot where the tumor was will now fill up with fluid. As her brain grows a little will fill into that spot but most will be fluid. So hopefully she will keep the rest of her formula down. I am not expecting to be able to go home tomorrow. I will post again tomorrow.
